Vancouver is hosting a CISV Village this summer!

This is a very exciting year for CISV Vancouver as we have the opportunity to host what is known in the CISV world as Village!

Village is a unique 4 week international camp that was the original CISV program and continues to be its flagship.  Delegates to this multilingual and multicultural experience participate in a mix of educational, cultural and sporting activities, which emphasize cooperative global and intercultural living.  The beauty  and essence of Village is that it is a foundation for global friendship.

The kids coming to our camp are 11 years old and will arrive from 12 countries from all corners of the globe:  Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark,  Finland, France, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Norway, Spain and the USA.  Each delegation will be joined by an adult leader.  The camp itself is coordinated by adult staff who are also CISV Junior Counsellors (age 16 – 17).  The JCs are coming from Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, Italy and the Netherlands.

So, that’s a total of 70 participants!

All the kids and activities will be held in North Vancouver from July 7 to August 3, 2017.

There will also be an Open Day BBQ where families, friends, people from the community can see what Village is like for themselves!  Delegations will show their national costumes and displays. It’s a time to see what an 11-year-old village is all about, meet kids from around the globe, and get an inside look at what our chapter has been organizing all year.  Find event details here.
