Event Details

  • Date:
  • Venue: Camp Alexandra

Mini-Camps are organized and planned by youth members (10-17 years) to spread awareness of CISV and our values. This weekend experience gives new and returning members a glimpse into what the international experience might be like – and it’s a lot of fun! If you are applying to an international program this year, applicants must have attended at least one local MiniCamp in the last 12 months before being eligible for a travel delegate position.

Participants will take part in a variety of educational, cultural and fun activities that have been planned by the youth from the chapters Junior Branch. The activities will revolve around a common theme and CISV’s peace education content areas, which are: diversity, human rights, conflict and resolution, and sustainable development.

  • Friday January 19 to Sunday January 21, 2018 (7 pm Friday to 12 noon Sunday)
  • Camp Alexandra, Crescent Beach (See Map)
  • Registration will begin in late 2017 and will be announced in advance via our Chapter Newsletter ( subscribe on our Home page) and on this site

In line with CISV’s “learning by doing” approach, activities at a MiniCamp are planned and lead by youth of various ages from the chapter’s Junior Branch (JB). The first planning meeting will occur sometime in January.  If you want to get involved in the planning, please contact juniorbranch@cisvvancouver.ca.

When parents arrive on Friday evening, after signing-in your child, come join other CISV parents for  a Parent Social and a chance to participate in a youth-led Junior Branch activity with your child. Siblings are also welcome to come on the Friday evening!

Check back here for information and registration links.  Register early as spaces fill up fast!
