Vancouver hosts June 29-July 14; Vancouver delegates travel to Prague July 14 to 31.
Interchange takes place in two ‘phases’: your child joins a delegation that visits another country and is hosted there by a CISV family. Then in return you and your family host a child from the delegation from the country your child visited. Interchange exchanges give your whole family the chance to experience another culture and make new friends and to be part of your local CISV community.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for a CISV Program you must have…

Paid Membership for 2020

In order to be considered for a delegate position, you MUST be a paid member of CISV Vancouver for 2020. This is mandatory for Insurance purposes. Membership purchase or renewal can be done through our website (cisvvancouver.com) and must be fully paid before submitting your application. Applications from non-members will not be considered.

A complete application must include the payment of the $35 application fee.

Mini Camp Attendance Required

Applicants must have attended at least one local Mini Camp in the last 12 months before being eligible for a travel delegate position. This is to provide exposure to a CISV camp setting and give you an idea of what a CISV program would be like, and also allows us to evaluate applicants in a camp setting amongst their peers.

Register for Winter MiniCamp, January 17 to 19, 2020, HERE

Questionnaire and References

A completed questionnaire and two references must be received by email to programming.cisvvancouver@gmail.com by January 31, 2020 to be considered.

A complete Questionnaire and Reference package consists of:

  1. The completed questionnaire, with both applicant and parent sections signed, scanned and emailed along with a recent photo of the applicant.
  2. Two reference forms, completed by your references and submitted via email directly to programming from the referee at programming.cisvvancouver@gmail.com References should not be family members and should be able to comment on the applicant in a peer setting. Coaches and teachers are ideal.

*Note:  only 1 reference required if you have applied for and submitted references to a CISV Vancouver Program in the past two programming years.  If submitting only 1 reference, that reference should be a teacher who can comment on the applicant in a peer setting.

*Note:  Proof of age will be validated by a programming committee member

Program Fees:

If your application is accepted, program fees are required. They vary by program and length. A menu of the varying fees can be found here.

Vaccinations:

As of the 2020 programme year, every staff, leader and participant must provide proof of the following vaccinations before attending a CISV International programme – unless they have a documented medical exemption:

– polio,

– DPT (diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus),

– measles, and

– rubella

Proof is at a minimum a correctly filled out and signed Health Form that states the vaccines are current and up-to-date.

Additional travel immunizations specific to certain countries may be required in addition to the routine immunizations.

Applications are required to be submitted by email to programming@cisvvancouver.ca

How are delegates selected?

Delegates are selected by application, reference and local participation review and may be asked to participate in an interview. A draw may be applied to fairly select equally qualified delegates when required.

Review the SELECTION PROCESS document for full information about our process.
